Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Wellington requires volunteer mentors. We are looking for new mentors! If you are an adult and have a couple hours per week to mentor a child or youth, please contact us. We provide training and support.
We operate three mentoring programs: One to One Community Match program; In-School Mentoring program; and Go Girls, Game On programs.
We believe that by intentionally matching a young person with a professionally screened and trained volunteer mentor, we build a developmental relationship. By monitoring and supporting the match, children and youth in our programs experience social emotional competence; mental health and well being; and, educational engagement and employment readiness.
Young people who graduate from our programs learn through caring guidance, new experiences and inter generational wisdom that are all essential for positive development.
